Crime is an inevitable consequence of social development that continues to evolve alongside the dynamics of human life. The increasing frequency and complexity of criminal activities require effective preventive measures, one of which is empowering community members through Community Security Units (Satuan Keamanan Lingkungan/Satkamling) as a form of voluntary, community-based security initiative.
In practice, however, many community members have yet to fully appreciate the importance of Community Security Units in preventing crime. Therefore, this community service program was conducted in the form of legal education and public awareness counseling on crime prevention through the strengthening of Community Security Units.
The program targeted residents of Cimuning Village, Mustika Jaya District, Bekasi City. Its implementation consisted of four stages: preparation, implementation, evaluation, and reporting.
The results indicate that the program was successfully implemented with enthusiastic participation from community members. Furthermore, the legal counseling activities significantly enhanced participants' knowledge and understanding of crime prevention strategies and the important role of Community Security Units in maintaining public safety and security.
